If you have been wishing that you could have a flower like the ones in the “Bicycle Garden” sculpture, then now is your chance to get one. These fun-size versions are just right for easy placement in your own garden.
There will also be live music and refreshments tonight for your enjoyment. Hope to see you there!
And if you can’t make it tonight, the gallery is open daily from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. My work will on display until the end of the month.
The Sawdust Festival is celebrating it’s 50th Anniversary this summer and I am so excited to be a part of the celebration and to invite you to come down and visit this summer. The festival will be extra fun this year, with artists going all-out to make the 50th anniversary special.
Come visit me at booth #236!
This year I have a fun new booth design, a new location next to Studio One, and brand new art. Plus, for those who loved taking pictures in the Magic Room last year, I have a new special interactive mirror installation … a Selfie Kaleidoscope! I can’t wait to see all the creative pictures that you are going to take with it!
Lastly, don’t forget to check out the “Bicycle Garden” when you visit!
If you are a cyclist, you can park at the “Bicycle Garden,” a brand new functional public art sculpture and bicycle rack that I designed and fabricated. It is one of several fantastic new art installations commissioned for the 50th anniversary of the festival. My work on the “Bicycle Garden” was featured in a several local publications, including the OC Register, LA Times, StuNews, and Laguna Independent!
Plus… Even if you don’t have a bike, it’s a great spot for a selfie!
Thank you Jason Feddy for having me on your great local radio show to talk about the Sawdust Festival and how my Magic Room installation has brought back a bit of that fun vibe that made the Sawdust famous as an extra fun festival to visit.

When I opened up the “Magic Room” art installation to the public this summer, I knew it would be special but I wasn’t sure exactly how people would respond. Now that we are a couple weeks into the show, I can say that I am constantly amazed, inspired, and surprised. There is no end to the creative and thoroughly unique responses that different people have when they go in the room. This is one of my favorites. You can find more by looking at www.facebook.com/lizavalonglassart, www.facebook.com/sawdustmagicroom or searching the hashtag #sawdustmagicroom on your favorite social media site (instagram, twitter, facebook, etc.).
Summer at the Sawdust Art Festival is almost here! All the artists picked their booth spaces on Tuesday, and I selected booth #132 as my summertime home. You can find me just two doors down from longtime Sawdust artist Douglas Miller, who was just featured in the documentary “Sawdust and Sand,” which tells the story of his 40+ year project of photographing Laguna Beach every single day.
Construction starts this weekend and I look forward to seeing you when the festival opens this summer!
